Katy Perry has been stung by a jellyfish whilst trying out a new watersport in the sea.
The ‘Dark Horse’ singer has taken to Instagram and Twitter to reveal she was on the wrong end of a tentacle attack from one of the gelatinous aquatic animal as she used a Flyboard water jet pack in the ocean.
Uploading a video of her using the gadget, Katy captioned it: "#tbt to when I thought I was winning 2018 and then fell into a jellyfish. Kewl."
The 33-year-old singer appears to take it all in her stride though, posing for the camera and blowing kisses in the video of her waving her arms as she tries to get her balance on the water.
The post comes shortly after Katy declared she is a "victim" of social media, just like most people in society.
The ‘Roar’ hitmaker – who has 68.4 million Instagram followers and 108 million fans on Twitter – believes the obsession with getting the perfect photo to get likes and reactions online is leading to the "decline of civilisation".
She told Refinery29: "A lot of us are living for that picture, and then the currency is the like. It’s hard because I’d rather not care about that and just live my life. We buy clothing and products or pose a certain way or go to an event to get a picture – it’s not good for us as a society. I think it’s actually the decline of civilisation if we’re going extreme about it. We have to find a balance, and I’m trying to find my own personal balance with it because I’m just as much a victim as everybody else."
