Katie Price has had to drop out of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ because of other commitments.
The 41-year-old star and her 30-year old boyfriend Kris Boyson – who signed up as the first couple to undertake counselling on the programme – have already filmed scenes, but a contract for another dating show means they will all have to be scrapped.
A source told The Sun Online: "Everyone was really excited when Katie agreed to be part of the new series and she has already filmed some amazing bits with Kris Boyson.
"But it emerged that she would be breaching her contract on another show so she had to go."
However, it’s thought that bosses are still confident ahead of the new series, despite the "disappointing" news.
The insider added: ""Katie agreed that her time was up and she knows the door is always open if she wants to give it another go.
"It’s obviously really disappointing but there are some other really good cast members this series so the show will still be a success."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the show has confirmed Katie’s departure, and revealed the former glamour model and her beau won’t e allowed to appear.
They said: "Lime Pictures contracted Katie and Kris to appear on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ on the understanding that they were able to take part.
"Unfortunately it has come to light that by appearing in our show Katie will in fact be in breach of her contract with another TV production company. Katie and Kris will not now be a part of this year’s ‘Celeb’s Go Dating’ series."
Katie has been officially announced earlier this month despite being in a relationship, as the agency experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson looked to break new ground by providing counselling for the couple.
She said at the time: "We’ve come to Paul and Anna to help us out because there are just too many people involved in our relationship. Too many chefs around and too many stories going on about us."
