Katie Piper confirmed for Strictly

Katie Piper is the first celebrity contestant confirmed for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 34-year-old TV presenter is feeling "nervous" about taking her place on the dancefloor, but is "so excited" to have signed up for her "favourite" TV show.
She said: "I feel so privileged and excited to be part of my favourite show on TV. I already know how much of an amazing experience it will be for me and I can’t wait to show my girls some of my new dance moves.
"I’m nervous to put on my dancing shoes but can’t wait to learn a new skill and have the ‘Strictly’ tan and makeover!"
The ‘Strictly’ announcement was made this morning (13.08.18) on BBC One’s ‘Breakfast’ show.
The BBC are to confirm the other celeb contestants in the coming weeks.
Several big names have been talked about as possibilities for this year’s quest to win the Glitterball Trophy, including Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts, radio presenter Vick Hope and Steps’ Faye Tozer.
Former England cricketer Graeme Swann has also been talked about as a potential celeb contestant in the upcoming series.
Should he swap his cricket whites for sequinned costumes, he will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Mark Ramprakash and Darren Gough on the Latin and ballroom show.
What’s more, former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan also took part in the show, as did spin bowler Phil Tufnell.
Blue singer Lee Ryan is also said to have signed up for this year’s series.
