Katie McGlynn has announced she’s pregnant.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who is known for playing Sinead Tinker in the ITV long-running soap – raised eyebrows on Wednesday (05.07.17) evening when she revealed she and her gay best friend Lee Bennett were expecting a baby together.
Taking to her Instagram account, she wrote in since deleted posts: "So excited to share the news that me and Lee Bennett are having a babrooon together. #Gayby.
"Couldn’t think of a better pers to bring life into this world than with my GBF Lee Bennett. 21st century baba. (sic)"
Lee also shared the news with his fans and wrote: "It’s been so hard keeping this a secret but I’m extremely happy to finally let you all know. #BabyNews (sic)"
While some followers were quick to congratulate the pair on their happy news, some weren’t convinced it was real and claimed the 22-year-old star had been hacked.
Katie’s announcement comes just two weeks after her co-star Sam Aston – who plays her on-screen ex-boyfriend Chesney Brown in the programme – got engaged.
The 23-year-old actor got down on one knee on stage last month and popped the question to his girlfriend Briony Gardner, who he’s been dating for five years.
Taking to his Instagram account at the time, the flame-haired star uploaded a photograph of him proposing to his blonde lover and accompanied it with the sweet caption: "Me and my beautiful bride to be… (sic)"
Briony also shared the same shot and wrote: "After sharing over 5 years together, 4 Al, Andy and Sam golf days and 3 doggies, 2 hearts have now become 1 as Sam and I are…ENGAGED!! (How is it possible I can even say that out loud?!).
"Sam got down on one knee last night at his annual golf do and proposed in front of 250 people and my heart could burst with happiness!! (When did I get so lucky?!).
"I can’t wait to marry my whole world but until then, I’m just floating in this bliss called love. I love you @samaston93. (sic)"
