Katie Jarvis is feeling "humbled" after landing an award.
The ‘EastEnders’ newcomer – who plays Hayley Slater on the BBC One soap – is feeling grateful after she won the Best Soap Talent accolade in Nothing But’s TV Awards.
She tweeted: "To say I’m extremely humbled by this award is an understatement.
Thank you so much to every one who took the time to vote for me. It really does mean so much and I hope i can continue to make all my supporters proud (sic)"
Ricky Champ – who plays Stuart Highway on ‘EastEnders’ – was one of the first people to congratulate the 27-year-old actress for picking up the accolade.
He wrote on Twitter: "Congrats superstar xxxx (sic)"
Jason Maza – who starred alongside Katie in 2009 movie ‘Fish Tank’, which also featured former ‘EastEnders’ actress Kierston Wareing (Kirsty Branning) – tweeted: "boom! (sic)"
Katie is no stranger to picking up accolades for her work, having a hat-trick of accolades for her performance as 15-year-old Mia in the drama movie, which saw her star alongside Michael Fassbender.
She scooped the Most Promising Newcomer prize at the British Independent Film Awards; Best British Performance gong at the Edinburgh International Film Festival; and she was handed the London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year.
Katie looks set to play a pivotal role in this year’s ‘EastEnders’ festive episodes which will see her cousin Kat Moon’s (Jessie Wallace) world "shattered into pieces" when all is revealed that her husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) has fathered a baby with Hayley.
The truth about Alfie and Hayley is set to be revealed in "catastrophic style", which will put paid to his plans to give Kat a "perfect Christmas".
