Katie Holmes wants to ‘just direct’ in the future

Katie Holmes plans to quit acting and "just direct" in the future.
The 38-year-old actress believes the film industry is "so unstable" as she is always worrying about her next role, and although she enjoys starring in movies and being part of the creative team she "eventually" wants to focus solely on a career behind the camera.
Speaking in the April issue of Town & Country magazine, the brunette beauty – who directed ‘Eternal Princess’ in 2015 – said: "This business is so unstable, and you never really know where you’re going to be.
"For now I like acting and directing. Eventually I’ll just direct."
And the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star believes her 10-year-old daughter Suri – who she has with her ex-husband Tom Cruise – is the "most important person" in her life and her biggest priority ahead of her job at the moment.
She explained: "My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now.
"It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed."
And Katie has hinted she doesn’t want to miss out on a single minute of her daughter’s upbringing because she believes children gradually distance themselves from their parents as they get older.
She said: "Every day, kids get a little further away from you. That’s a positive thing. They should be becoming more independent, but it’s heartbreaking. You want them to stay with you forever, but they’re these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need — and then they’re going to go. And that’s going to be very, very sad for me."
