Katie Holmes excited to direct

Katie Holmes finds directing "exciting and scary".
The 37-year-old actress has made her debut behind the camera with ‘All We Had’ – in which she also stars – and had a great time taking the reins, particularly when watching footage of her co-stars.
She said: "It was exciting and scary. It’s just… you’re in charge!.
"Then the movie takes on its own life, and that’s fun.
"I love being behind the monitor and seeing Stefania [LaVie Owen] and Eve [Lindley] have a great moment. It’s like, [gasp]. I did that."
Katie admits the quality of the filmmaker is always one of her main criteria when taking a job, so she relished the chance to work with, and learn from, Steven Soderbergh on ‘Logan Lucky’.
She told Modern Luxury magazine: "Since day one in this business, you’re always trying to work with great directors. That’s the goal.
I [recently] got to work with Steven Soderbergh, and that was a dream come true.
"He’s a master. I asked him a lot of questions about directing in our first meeting. He was extremely generous. Then I watched what he did when we were working."
Katie is set to reprise her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in TV miniseries ‘The Kennedys: After Camelot’, but this time got the chance to direct one of the episodes.
She said of the experience: "Everything is its own animal, so you’re always learning. It’s challenging, but I enjoy it."
As well as ‘Logan Lucky’, Katie also has comedy ‘Coup D’Etat’ set for release, and ‘A Happening of Monumental Proportions’, a film she jumped at the chance to appear in as soon as her friend Judy Greer – who makes her own directorial debut with the picture – asked her to be a part of the cast.
Katie recalled: "She said, ‘I have a part for you.’ I said, ‘When? Where?’
"Women supporting women, that goes without saying. But I think artists need to support artists. It’s the right thing to do."
