Katherine Kelly has given birth to her second child.
The 37-year-old actress and her husband Ryan Clark – who already have three-year-old daughter Orla – welcomed their little girl into the world three months ago but decided to keep their news a secret because she didn’t want to be involved in a "bump watch."
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Katherine said: "We didn’t go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn’t announce the pregnancy so people were not immediately on bump watch. So it’s been wonderful to have this precious time just for us.
"It is different if you are in something like ‘Coronation Street’, as you can’t keep it quiet. It leaks within a second as paparazzi are always at the gates."
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star met her second child named Rose on October 21 following a speedy labour and water birth at London’s Whittington Hospital.
She explained: "It was a rush to get to the hospital and by the time we were checked in, Rose was born within one hour and 40 minutes!"
The blonde beauty decided to put her career on the back burner when she gave birth to her first daughter Orla three years ago but is adamant that she will continue to work as well as care for her kids this time around because she loves her job so much.
She said: "I love my job but I do want to spend as much time as I can with Orla and Rose. To have two healthy children is a blessing."
And it seems Katherine and Ryan are good at keeping secrets as they also opted for the hush hush option when they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony three years ago.
The couple fled to Las Vegas without telling anyone – not even family – to get hitched.
She said at the time: "The day was everything we hoped it would be – no fuss, low-key, sunshine and just us. We wanted to enjoy the day without all the usual planning and pressure. We just wanted to let it roll, so it had an on-the-run feel to it."
