Kate Wright has quit showbiz.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star has decided to turn her back on the limelight – including cutting ties with several brands she was working with – in order to focus on her new boyfriend Rio Ferdinand, whom she’s been dating since the beginning of the year, and his three children Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine, and Tia, six.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the busty blonde beauty said: "I’m taking a step back from the public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on ‘TOWIE’, my priority right now is Rio and the family."
However, although she’s decided to take a back seat for the time being, Kate previously said it would be hard to turn down the offer if she was approached for something like ‘Dancing on Ice’ because she used to be a professional skater.
She said: "At the moment, I’m just focusing on me but I’m sure if an offer came in I’d consider it. I’d be rubbish at ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because I have no rhythm, but I used to be a professional figure skater so I’d be good on ‘Dancing on Ice’."
And, despite sending her fans into a frenzy earlier this year when she announced she was turning her back on the ITVBe show – the programme that made her famous – after she struck up a relationship with the sports pundit, she’s is adamant her exit won’t be permanent but she’s just sick of the drama that comes with being on screen.
She said previously: "I haven’t left officially. When I’m on the show I get caught up in the drama, so it’s just a long break for now. The door is always open to go back."
Rio was left heartbroken two years ago when his wife Rebecca Ellison, whom he was married to from 2009, died from breast cancer – five weeks after being diagnosed.
