Kate Moss is a "control freak".
The 43-year-old supermodel hired her former personal assistant, interior designer Katie Grove, to decorate her London home, but ultimately, the decision making was in her hands and she enjoyed not sticking to a particular colour scheme or style.
Opening the doors to her abode to the September issue of Architectural Digest: "I love mixing old and new things, all different eras. I don’t want to say I’m a control freak, but I’m a control freak."
While Kate knows a lot about fashion and interiors, she admits her 14-year-old daughter Lila – who she has with former boyfriend Jefferson Hack – is streets ahead of her when it comes to social media.
She admitted: "Thank God I’ve got a teenage daughter–she keeps me up to speed, or I wouldn’t know anything!"
And Kate has admitted her bathroom is so relaxing that she and her guests usually end up chilling in there during her birthday parties because it’s so "cosy".
She added: "I love those old movies with glamorous bathrooms where they have chaise longues. My bathroom in the country has a chesterfield, and when I have my birthday parties there, we always end up hanging out in it. It’s got a record player, it’s cosy, it’s fun–there’s potions and lotions and smelly things. Everyone’s welcome."
The British beauty may be a control freak, but in order to achieve her dream house, Kate has had to enlist the help of some top brands – including bespoke wallpaper company de Gournay – because she had to think carefully about where each piece of furniture went, though she used some unusual accessories, such as curtains made from saris.
She said of her floral bathroom: "So no one can see into the bathroom, thank goodness. Picture a summer night when it goes silvery-blue from the light of the moon. I wanted that kind of film noir feel in here.
"I like the feeling of when the sun is just coming up at a [music] festival, and you have that glowy light. This one is pastels and neons–quite psychedelic."
