Kate Garraway is to host her new show once Derek Draper has recovered.
The 52-year-old TV presenter previously landed a new ITV breakfast series called ‘Breakfast at Garraway’s’ with her fellow ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ campmate Myles Stephenson, but the show has been put on hold as Kate’s husband was put into a coma after testing positive for coronavirus in March.
While he is free of COVID-19, he is yet to make a full recovery and remains in hospital.
Myles told OK! magazine: "I’m doing ‘Breakfast At Garraway’s’ with Kate [Garraway] when we can, which will have a cooking element to it.
"Obviously, the situation with Kate is s**t, but when Derek gets better, we can go full steam ahead with that."
Derek, 52, was admitted to hospital on March 30th, after struggling to breathe due to coronavirus.
Kate recently admitted that while he has recovered from the virus, doctors have prepared her for the "second worst case scenario", which is that Derek never wakes up from his coma.
She previously said: "He has damage everywhere, holes in his heart, his liver is impacted, and his pancreas … well, he’s now very, very diabetic which he wasn’t before.
"He’s been on kidney dialysis because his kidneys stopped functioning. And his nerves and his neurology have been affected by the virus, but the impact and the damage of that, they don’t yet know."
The Saturday morning show was due to start in April.
It is set to feature celebrity guests sharing their thoughts on what brings them joy, and will give viewers tips "from what to cook for your Saturday night TV dinner, to what to watch on telly and everything in between".
