Kate Garraway was held up at customs for buying too much fake tan.
The 52-year-old TV presenter was stopped on her way to Australia for ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ after she purchased too many tanning products during a stopover in the United Arab Emirates.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I bought some fake tan in Abu Dhabi as I thought best to get that tan all over every part of my body, and they wouldn’t let me through customs.
"I had to put it in its own special box. I was held up by my fake tan.
"I’ve got a lot of swimming costumes. It’s quite hard as I’ve got bits of my body that I’m trying to cover up. In fact, a lot of my body I’m trying to cover up. I was looking for one that starts up here and goes down to my ankles."
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host ensured she packed her best swimsuits with the help of her colleagues Susanna Reid, 48, and Ranvir Singh, 42.
Kate said: "We did have a big try-on session. But I haven’t brought all of them."
Despite the Bushtucker Trials and the gruelling jungle conditions, Kate is looking forward to her escape Down Under, because she will have time away from fellow ‘GMB’ presenter Piers Morgan, 54.
She added: "I am very excited about coming to Australia. There’s quite a lot of distance between me and Piers right now."
Kate will be living in Oz alongside singer Nadine Coyle, former footballer Ian Wright, Rak-Su singer Myles Stephenson, Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, comedian Andrew Maxwell, ex-‘EastEnders’ actress Jacqueline Jossa, Capital Radio DJ Roman Kemp, Olympian and TV personality Caitlyn Jenner, and former England rugby player James Haskell.
