Kate Garraway recognised meningitis signs from GMB segments

Kate Garraway recognised her meningitis scare signs after seeing similar situations on previous ‘Good Morning Britain’ segments.
The 51-year-old TV presenter fell ill while backstage last month, and she had to be rushed to hospital with a high temperature and a piercing headache, and the host has revealed she noticed some symptoms because over the years she has covered lots of stories about the illness.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "I felt really groggy for a couple of weeks, then one morning I went into GMB and my temperature shot through the roof.
"I couldn’t look at the light and I was quite delirious because my temperature was so high. We’ve done a lot of stories on the show over the years about meningitis and I was displaying some of the signs"
Kate – who has two children, Darcey, 12 and nine-year-old Billy, with husband Derek Draper – recently took some time out as she was "desperate" to spend some quality time with her family, and she was able to indulge in some "mother-daughter pampering" while away.
She said: "I was desperate for a bit of time out with Derek and the kids. On one of the days I took Darcey to the Red Lane Spa for some mother and daughter pampering, it was lovely."
Kate also revealed that the romantic getaway has inspired her to think about renewing her vows with her husband of 13 years.
She said: "We saw a few people getting married on the beach while we were on holiday and it did make me think how nice it would be to renew our vows. Maybe we’ll do it for our 15th wedding anniversary."
