Kate Mara insists she and her sister Rooney Mara are not rivals.
The ‘Morgan’ actress feels "so grateful" that she and her younger sibling are both doing well in their respective movie careers and likes the fact they can share their successes.
She said: "I know conflict is more interesting, but honestly, I just feel so grateful that we’re both living our dreams successfully and to be able to share that with someone you grew up with – it’s really special."
However, the 32-year-old beauty admitted she has no idea whether she and the ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ star have ever been considered for the same roles.
She told the Observer magazine: "We would be the last to know. Our agents would never tell us. So I don’t think it’s happened.
"But maybe there are producers out there laughing, saying, ‘Haha, it happened yesterday and we hired your sister!’ "
The former ‘House of Cards’ star – who is dating her ‘Fantastic 4’ co-star Jamie Bell – admitted she is much more relaxed these days than when she first moved from New York to Los Angeles to launch her career, but she is happy with that.
She said: "I don’t know if I’m getting much done, but I love it. When people ask, ‘Where do you want to be in 10 years?’ I just say that I hope I’m still acting. Oh and kids, sure. Kids are compulsory in my family, anyway.
"I think what’s changed is that I’m home now. It took a while, but I feel like I belong here."
Meanwhile, Kate was left with a "lot of bruises" shooting her latest movie ‘Morgan’, in which she plays an executive that has been sent to shut down an artificial intelligence research project which has gone wrong.
However, despite her injuries and the "tense" subject matter, Kate still had fun making the film.
She said: "I got a lot of bruises. But it was fun. I think when you have a tense movie like this, and you spend all day in a dark house in life-and-death scenarios, you become delirious. We’d be crying with laughter at the most stupid things."
