Kara Tointon rules out EastEnders return

Kara Tointon doesn’t want to return to ‘EastEnders’ because she thinks after 10 years too much time has passed to come back.
The 35-year-old actress portrayed streetwise stunner Dawn Swann on the BBC One soap from 2005 until 2009 when she was written out of the show after the production team decided the character had run her course in Walford.
Kara is very proud of her time on Albert Square but she has no desire to play Dawn again and she doesn’t even think that many viewers would remember who her alter ego is.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s ‘TOTEM’ show at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Wednesday evening (16.01.19), Kara said: "I think my time there was enough and I had a great time. I was there for a long time, I did well, I survived! It’s been about 10 years, I don’t know if my character is still alive to be honest.
"I just really enjoy doing different things, so I just don’t see myself going back."
Kara and her fiancé Marius Jensen became first time parents in November to a baby boy and the ‘Mr. Selfridge’ star intends to take some time out from her career this year so she can focus on being a mother to her son Frey.
She said: "I’m going to enjoy being a mum for a bit and take a bit of time. When the right time comes I’ll be back because I love working. I think this industry is very odd because each year is very different, it’s like a roller coaster so you have to go with the flow and see what comes up and take each decision as it comes."
Kara attended the premiere with her man Marius and she spilled that it was the couple’s first night out together since they became parents.
She said: "This is actually our first evening out properly, we’ve been going for dinner with him – he’s doing well. We’re just about doing OK! There’s cement under my eyes I think, but we’re doing OK. We learn as we go, it’s all a trial and error."
