Kanye West is reportedly "convinced people are out to get him".
The 39-year-old rapper was admitted to UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Monday (21.11.16) after suffering from "exhaustion" and "sleep deprivation", but a new report released by TMZ.com says the star has been "paranoid and profoundly depressed" for a long time.
Sources told the publication that after being taken to hospital, the ‘Famous’ rapper "was convinced people were out to get him, including the doctors who were caring for him." The source also claims Kanye "wouldn’t even let the doctors touch him".
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker is often down at this time of year, as his mother Donda West passed away in November 2007. The memory of his mother, coupled with his wife Kim Kardashian West’s recent robbery at gunpoint in Paris is reportedly what led to Kanye’s meltdown.
A source said: "Any time around the holidays is tough for him, he is an only child.
"But he was very close to his mom, so this time of year… it’s really difficult.
"Then on top of it, everything that happened with Kim in Paris, the build up to it is a lot, it’s a lot of pressure.
"Kanye is highly sensitive and highly protective of certain things which doesn’t help.
"But people are so used to seeing him as a performer or as an icon, they don’t see him as a normal person.
"And really he is just like we all are, broken and lost and hurt, we all are made of different fragments as human beings.
"With too much pressure it bursts and right now with everything hurting for him Kanye has burst."
According to TMZ, Kanye – who has two children North, three, and Saint, 11 months – is expected to be released from hospital on Monday (28.11.16) and put in the care of a personal doctor, but it is still too early to know if that will happen.
