Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West are reportedly trying to score a free $30 million apartment in New York through Airbnb.
The couple were inspired by Kim’s sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner landing a $50 million villa for their recent trip to Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean and Kim and Kanye are said to be working on getting a luxury penthouse in Manhattan for a few months later this year.
A source told the New York Post’s Page Six: "The plan would be for Kimye to live there for a few months for free, and Kim will post on social media about the apartment, like her sisters did from Turks and Caicos. Airbnb would pick up the tab for the rent.
"Scooter Braun has people looking at places… Kanye wants to use New York as the hub for his tour. They have been talking to Airbnb, and hope to decide on an apartment soon."
However, so far they are not having much luck with a source adding: "Not many of these sellers want to rent to Kimye, as having their names, and Airbnb, attached to such a luxury property won’t help a sale. It isn’t attractive to high-end buyers. Plus, Airbnb is only offering a little more than $150,000 for the entire stay, when most of these places rent for [more than] $100K a month."
Kanye owns an apartment in the city but it is too small for him, Kim and their children North, three and eight-month-old Saint.
An insider said: "It’s only a one bedroom, and it is smaller than Kim’s closet in LA. He’s grown out of it, plus they need more space for the family."
Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian and her family recently enjoyed a free weekend at a $50 million palatial pad in Nantucket, also provided by Airbnb.
