Julia Stiles has hit back at her critics, who accused her of not holding her baby correctly.
The 36-year-old actress welcomed son Strummer into the world five weeks ago and is already fed up of mommy shamers, who have criticised her for the way she uses a "front pack".
She wrote on Instagram: "It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn’t expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That’s the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from "Little Shop of Horrors".
"I was trying to keep much of my son’s image private, including, I guess, his little feet. And it was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around. Thanks for the concern, anyway. Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It’s way more fun. (sic)"
Julia announced Strummer’s birth in a sweet post on Instagram.
Captioning a photo of his little hand, she wrote at the time: "Strummer Newcomb Cook, born October 20, 2017. Thanks and ever thanks to the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and staff at Mount Sinai for helping bring this utter joy into our lives. ‘Hello, World!’ (sic)"
Meanwhile, Julia had previously shown her aversion for social media when she revealed how she thinks Twitter is "gross".
She said: "I’ve had an aversion to Twitter because of Donald Trump: I’ve found it so gross because of him. I once thought there was a positive side to having people be succinct, and reduce what they wanted to say to 140 characters, but now it feels like it’s shrivelling ideas."
