Josh Duhamel will return to ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.
The 43-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as the heroic Colonel Lennox – a part he held for the first three movies in the series – in the forthcoming fifth installment of the popular sci-fi thriller franchise after he decided to sit out of the last film ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ in 2014.
The exciting news was announced on the ‘Transformers’ official Twitter page on Tuesday night (17.05.16).
The statement said: "Lieutenant Colonel Lennox is back and the universe feels safer already. (sic)"
Duhamel wasn’t the only cast member to step away from the fourth film as Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox also decided to walk away but, following the success of the last flick, it’s not yet known if they’ve decided to reprise their roles as well.
The handsome actor will star alongside the franchise’s new leading man Mark Wahlberg and ‘100 Things to Do Before High School’ star Isabela Moner for ‘The Last Night’.
Filming for the next installment – which focuses on giant transforming Autobot robots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack and Grimlock – will begin filming in Cuba this week after the title was announced days ago.
Steven Spielberg will act as executive producer on the Paramount Pictures title and the script has been written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Ehren Kruger, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan.
A release date for ‘The Last Night’ is yet to be announced but it’s believed it’ll hit cinema screens early next year.
