Jorgie Porter ‘forgot’ how to be a ‘human’ after Hollyoaks

Jorgie Porter "forgot" how to be a "human" when she left ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 30-year-old actress played Teresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap from 2008 until she decided to bow out to focus on other things in 2016, and she has admitted she spent such a long time wearing her alter ego’s clothes that she couldn’t remember how to dress herself once she was allowed to be herself every day.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the National Television Awards, held at London’s The O2 arena, last night (23.01.18), she said: "Doing ‘Hollyoaks’ for eight years, I needed a bit of a break to remember what to wear as a human. Because when you do a soap you get given your outfit and you come out and you go: ‘Who am I?’ "
The blonde beauty has spent the past few years in Los Angeles, California, taking acting lessons because she wants to make sure she’s on top form for the next role.
She explained: "I’ve just been working on my craft because you know, new people come in, so that’s been really exciting. Also I’ve done it out there because no one really knows me. There’s no judging. I can just get on with my normal life, no one is intruding. I’ve come back now for a bit. I’ve auditioned for a couple of roles. But I can’t say what. I would like to do a soap again but I’d love to do something completely different as a bit of a test for me. But anything really, I’m not picky about things. I would like to do a film. I’ve missed hard work, that’s why I’ve had to go away and do something else."
