Jordan Peele keeps his Oscar next to Get Out prop

Jordan Peele is keeping his Oscar next to a prop from his movie ‘Get Out’.
The 39-year-old director became the first African-American to win the Best Original Screenplay award for his hit mystery movie on Sunday night (04.03.18), and Jordan has now revealed via his Twitter account that his glistening new gong sits face-to-face on his coffee table with his Emmy Award.
Jordan captioned the image of his gongs: "This is exactly what it looked like watching my wife give birth."
Following the post, a number of Twitter users observed that the leather sofa in the background of the photo closely resembled the hypnotist’s chair that appears in his widely acclaimed movie.
Jordan responded to their queries by confirming that it’s exactly the same sofa that was used in one particularly memorable scene starring Daniel Kaluuya.
A social media user wrote: "Loving that GET OUT lookin chair (sic)"
Then, Jordan responded by saying: "Btw that IS the GET OUT chair. (sic)"
Meanwhile, Jordan admitted after his Oscars success that he almost didn’t become a director because of the lack of black role models.
But the TV star-turned-moviemaker feels "proud" to be part of a "renaissance" of black directors, following in the footsteps of people like Spike Lee and John Singleton.
Jordan – who previously starred on the hit American comedy series ‘Key & Peele’ alongside Keegan-Michael Key – shared: "It’s a renaissance. I almost never became a director because there was a shortage of role models – there was Spike Lee, John Singleton and others.
"I am so proud to be at the beginning of a movement where the best films in every genre are being bought by my fellow black directors."
