Jonathan Ross had a scare earlier today (17.07.19) when his pet pooch went missing, sparking a huge Twitter appeal.
The 58-year-old TV presenter urged fans to help him find his four-legged friend after he escaped from the garden of his Dorset home, and fortunately a helpful stranger found the pug and took him to the "safe haven" of Lynwood Veterinary Group in Swanage, southern England.
The chat show host initially shared a picture of the dog’s twin brother with the caption: "Hi. If anyone is in or around Swanage today and they see a black pug he may be mine!! He must have escaped from the garden. This is his brother (sic)"
After a nervous wait, the dog was found.
Comedian Jonathan then returned to Twitter, writing: "Pug is home!!
"Thank you to whomever found him and took him to the safe haven of Lynwood Vets. Phew. (sic)"
Several social media users were quick to share their joy at Jonathan’s pooch being back home.
They wrote: "Oh thank the Lord. I was upset for you & the dog of course! Pals back together now …..I feel happier too (sic)"
Another tweeted replied: "Fantastic news. Lynwood Vets are brill x (sic)."
However, Jonathan isn’t the only star to have had his pet go missing recently.
‘Hollyoaks’ actor Gregory Finnegan revealed earlier this year he "feared the worst" after his cat Jacko went missing.
The soap star – who plays James Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap – took to Instagram to reveal his beloved four-legged friend had left his house and hadn’t been seen since.
He wrote: "This old timer wandered out of the house at the weekend and hasn’t been seen since. Fearing the worst (sic)"
And there was a sad ending as Gregory had to put his cat down.
He later confirmed the feline had "found his way home in a bad way and after a consultation with a vet had to be put to sleep".
