Jonah Hill to make directorial debut

Jonah Hill will make his directorial debut on coming-of-age movie ‘Mid 90s’.
The 32-year-old star will head behind the camera for the first time to helm the film, which will be based on a script he wrote himself.
Sources told Variety the motion picture will tell the story of a youngster growing up in Los Angeles and learning life’s lessons with his skateboarding pals.
Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are on board to produce the movie, but Hill is not expected to star in it.
While it will be the first time Hill has directed a film, it is not the first project he has penned a script for.
The ‘Superbad’ star – who earned Oscar nominations for his performances in ‘Moneyball’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ – wrote for ’21 Jump Street’, which he starred in alongside Channing Tatum.
He has also written screenplays, including ‘The Adventurer’s Handbook’, and co-wrote animated series, ‘Allen Gregory’, in which he voices the titular character.
Hill looks set to be busy as it was recently reported he and Emma Stone have signed up for new TV comedy ‘Maniac’.
The pair were said to be close to signing deals that would see them star in the dark comedy series based on the original Norwegian show about a man who lives a fantasy life.
