Johnny Vegas took a poo in a Pringles tube

Johnny Vegas once took a poo in a Pringles tube before a gig.

The 49-year-old comedy star has revealed he was caught short before performing at the Gilded Balloon in Edinburgh, and was forced to resort to desperate measures prior to his gig.

He told FUBAR Radio: "I had a massive thing of like … I didn’t like to be seen before the gig.

"I wasn’t a good one for having patter … Once you were in there and the audience came in there was no toilet, there was nowhere to go."

Johnny admitted that his dislike of being seen before performing meant he had to improvise, as he wasn’t able to go to the toilet.

He shared: "Tommy Tiernan had left a Pringles tube and I just had to have a s**t in that.

"But, then not wanting it to smell, I folded it down so it looked like one of the fun-size single packs. I just put the lid on!"

However, Johnny was so obsessed with his upcoming performance, he actually forgot to get rid of the tube.

He recalled: "I got in at about half-five in the morning and then going, ‘Oh, I left it in there’.

"Somebody is going to go in and go, ‘Ooh, I wonder if there’s one in the bottom. They might have left few. That’ll tide me over …’"

The TV star also admitted his perception of the surreal incident has evolved over time.

He said: "Here’s the sad thing. I thought that’s a tiny feat of human engineering … A few years down the line you go, ‘You s**t in a Pringles tube.’"
