Johnny Depp’s lawyers have claimed Amber Heard refused to testify at her deposition.
According to gossip website TMZ, legal documents filed by the ‘Black Mass’ actor’s attorney Laura Wasser claim the actress – who alleges she was physically and verbally abused by the actor throughout their marriage – didn’t enter the deposition room on Saturday (06.08.16).
The papers report she turned up late at 11:50am for the 10am out-of-court testimony and despite being there until 9pm she didn’t make it into the room, and was instead crying in an adjoining office and yelling in defiance.
As a result, Johnny’s lawyers are now requesting the domestic violence case be dismissed or that she is prohibited from testifying.
But it has also been reported that Amber, 30, didn’t ever "refuse" to enter the room.
A source told the New York Daily News: "She was there and ready to proceed. She never refused to go in."
The insider added that Amber waited for more than nine hours as lawyers on her and Johnny’s sides discussed "with respect to a global resolution on all issues" and she was due to go into the room at one point but settlement negotiations started again.
Should the case go to court, Amber intends to call her estranged husband – who vehemently denies all the accusations made against him – to the stand.
She has seven people listed to speak, including her friend and neighbour Raquel Pennington as well as Pennington’s boyfriend Joshua Drew.
Amber’s team have also compiled medical records and a photo of Amber holding pills taken in 2014, which they have entered as evidence.
Johnny has reportedly listed 23 different people to support his defence as he fights against having a permanent restraining order made against him.
This includes the two police officers that were first on the scene after the incident where Johnny allegedly threw his iPhone at Amber. Also, their housekeeper Hilda Vargas and Amber’s publicist Jodi Gottleib are featured on the list.
The pair – who met on the set of 2011 film ‘The Rum Diary’ and were married for just 15 months – split in May.
