John Stamos thanked his late parents at the TV Land Icon Awards.
The ‘Fuller House’ actor – who plays Jesse Katsopolis in the ABC American series – credited his mother, Loretta, and father, William, for making him a "kind and generous" person as he accepted the Timeless Icon Award at the star studded bash in Santa Monica, California, on April 10.
Speaking about his late parents and the morals they entrenched in him during the ceremony – which aired on TV last night (17.04.16), the 52-year-old actor said: "I wanna thank my parents. Boy, they would’ve loved this, Loretta and Bill… They were really good people.
"They taught me to be kind and to be generous and to be loving to everyone that you meet on this journey.
"And appreciate every single moment you have on this planet because it’s so damn precious. I’m gonna treasure this moment, thank you."
However, John admitted living life in the spotlight has its downfalls, although that has led him to continue to be successful.
He explained: "You know, when you’re on a roll in Hollywood, everybody wants to be your friend and then you go through some rough patches and they all disappear except for the people that really love you for you.
"And those people are what get me going every single day and the reason I’m up here today."
After accepting his award, John surprised the audience by joining the Beach Boys behind the drums for a performance of ‘Barbara Ann’.
