John Partridge will appear on Celebrity MasterChef

John Partridge has hinted he will go far in ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ because he has been cooking since he was 16.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor has boasted about his talents in the kitchen after he started rustling up his own meals when he lived on his own during his teenage years, and while he cannot divulge what happened on the series, the 47-year-old star insists he "can cook".
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, he said: "I’m on ‘MasterChef’ in about a month. I’m not allowed to tell you the outcome – but I can cook.
"Living on my own at 16, I had to learn to cook. But for me right now, it’s about trying to squeeze the most out of myself.
"So to speak. Now I’m off to tend to my vegetable patch."
John – who spent four and a half years playing Christian Clarke on ‘EastEnders’ – starred on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2006, and admitted his stint on the show "nearly killed" him, so much so he was tempted to walk out on numerous occasions.
He said: "There’s no way I would have done the new series, no way.
"It nearly killed me – taking part in the show earlier this year was brutal.
"There were so many times I wanted to walk out the door but if you do that then you don’t get paid.
"The care for [Bridget’s] illnesses is expensive and I don’t come from money.
"I knew I needed to make that cheque.
"There were definitely nights where I would lie there and think – I can’t do this."
