John Partridge is set to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 44-year-old actor – who was last seen appearing on the long-running soap early last year – is to reprise his role as hunky Christian Clarke in the popular show later this year.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, John – who is currently starring in the musical ‘Chicago’ – explained: "I am thrilled to be able to return to ‘EastEnders’ whilst touring the UK with ‘Chicago’. Christmas is never far from my mind – I turn my back for five minutes and look what happens."
It’s not known how long the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant – who came sixth in the reality TV show earlier this year – will feature on the show this time around or what brings his character back to Albert Square but his return is likely to have something to do with his sister Jane Beale (Laurie Brett).
John first appeared on the soap from 2008 until 2012 when he was written out after Marc Elliot – who portrayed his on-screen husband Syed Masood – announced he was quitting.
His chirpy alter-ego made a brief return in 2014 for two episodes when he was asked to attend the heartbreaking funeral of Jane’s step-daughter Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).
He then fled again shortly after the blonde businesswoman was laid to rest, before returning a year later on brighter circumstances when he watched his sibling Jane tie the knot with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) for the second time.
