John Legend hopes his IVF story will help others

John Legend hopes his and his wife Chrissy Teigen’s honesty about using IVF to have a baby will make other people realise they shouldn’t feel "ashamed" if they are having fertility problems.
The couple welcomed their daughter Luna into the world in April 2016 after undergoing in vitro fertilisation treatment in 2015 after struggling to conceive naturally for a few years.
John insists he and Chrissy always wanted to be open about their journey to have Luna so any of their fans going through the same struggle could draw hope from their path to parenthood.
During an appearance on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (12.12.16), he shared: "A lot of people struggle with fertility and you shouldn’t be ashamed of it. A lot of people want to have kids and maybe can’t do it the natural way so it’s an option that’s available to a lot of people and I think people should do it if it’s the right thing for them."
John, 37, and Chrissy, 31, will have IVF again as they want to give Luna siblings and hope to have a large family.
He said: "Yeah we’ll do it again, we want to have a few kids, I think like three or four."
John has just released his new album ‘Darkness and Light’ and the track ‘Right By You’ is all about his baby girl.
The Grammy Award-winning musician admits that a lot of the songs on the LP are inspired by Luna as he was waiting to become a father when he began the writing and recording process.
The ‘Love Me Now’ hitmaker explained: "I wrote a song specifically dedicated to her (Luna) it’s called ‘Right By You’. The whole album was influenced by the fact I was becoming a new father, I was writing a lot of it before she was born but when I knew we were having a baby so I was thinking a lot about that when I was writing the songs."
