John Legend fell in love with Chrissy Teigen through text message.
The ‘All Of Me’ hitmaker was impressed with his now-wife’s "witty and funny" remarks and after spending time together during the breaks of his tour, it "blossomed" into a marriage.
He said: "I fell in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters. [At the beginning of our relationship] we were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humour. We would talk on the phone, and I started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is.
"And I think that’s when I really started to know that this was the kind of person I wanted to around a lot. Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realised we had such a connection – and then it blossomed into a marriage and a baby."
The 37-year-old star – who welcomed daughter Luna into the world in April – wasn’t "nervous" about falling so quickly for someone as he felt a "real connection" between them.
He added to Entertainment Tonight: "I wasn’t nervous about it. When you feel a real connection to somebody, for me it wasn’t nerves, it was more like excitement, like, ‘Oh, this could be great.’"
Meanwhile, John previously admitted his marriage to Chrissy has changed since they had Luna.
He shared: "Being married is not the same as having a kid because being married to another adult who can take care of themselves to a degree is different than having a kid that is completely dependent on you. So, it definitely makes you realise a heightened level of responsibility and it makes you realise that there is a lot of work to be doing, and you realise what your work is for."
