John Cena is feeling the "sting" of his split from Nikki Bella.
The 41-year-old professional wrestler and actor recently split from his former fiancé and fellow wrestler just weeks before they were due to tie the knot, and he has now revealed he still "loves and misses" his ex-partner.
Speaking to E! News, he said: "Nicole knows I love her and I miss her, but that is what it is. And I’m still here, still going – and I choose to go. When you love somebody, it stings. That’s why musicians write about it. That’s why poets write about it."
This isn’t the first time the ‘Blockers’ actor has spoken about the split, as he previously noted that he still loves Nikki with "all [his] heart".
He said: "It sucks. There’s no other way to say [it]. I love Nicole with all my heart, and that’s that."
Meanwhile, Nikki’s twin sister, Brie Bella, recently admitted she hopes the couple get back together in the future.
She said: "I’m extremely spiritual, so if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.
"Their souls will come back and I think sometimes people can separate and come back or sometimes you separate and realise that life should be different.
"I always think when two people are good people, Nikki’s a great person and John’s a great person, you always want to see two people together.
"But other than that I think everyone just supports whatever decisions they make."
The pair – who had been together for six years – confirmed the news of their decision to split in a statement which was tweeted out by 34-year-old Nikki.
It read: "While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives."
And John then took to social media to post a quote from Walt Whitman which read: "We were together. I forget the rest."
