John Cena and Nikki Bella have posted messages on social media on what would have been their wedding day.
The professional wrestling couple decided to separate last month ahead of their plans to tie the knot, and over the weekend, on what would have been their big day, both wrestlers took to social media to share cryptic posts which fans have linked to their cancelled nuptials.
On Twitter, 41-year-old John wrote: "If you choose to keep moving, no matter how low the road takes you, it will eventually begin to climb back up. #NeverGiveUp
"Learn from your mistakes. A life of regret is a life unfulfilled. (sic)"
‘Total Divas’ star Nikki, meanwhile, took to Instagram to share a picture which featured the words "Chin up Princess, or the crown slips".
The 34-year-old star didn’t caption her snap.
Nikki and John’s social media posts come after John previously told news outlets that he was feeling the "sting" of their breakup, and said he misses his former fiancée.
He said: "Nicole knows I love her and I miss her, but that is what it is. And I’m still here, still going – and I choose to go. When you love somebody, it stings. That’s why musicians write about it. That’s why poets write about it."
In a separate interview, he added: "It sucks. There’s no other way to say [it]. I love Nicole with all my heart, and that’s that."
The pair – who had been together for six years – confirmed the news of their decision to split in a statement which was tweeted out by Nikki last month.
It read: "While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives."
And John then took to social media to post a quote from Walt Whitman which read: "We were together. I forget the rest."
