John Cena and Nikki Bella got engaged at WrestleMania 33.
The 16-time World Champion got down on one knee in the ring after he and his long-term girlfriend defeated The Miz and his wife Maryse during a tag team match at the sporting spectacular at the World Camping Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Sunday (02.04.17).
As he pulled out a diamond ring, John explained he had asked her to be his wife after she had her neck surgery, but knew she wouldn’t remember, so wanted to propose again on the "grandest stage of them all".
He said: "I said, do you know, one day I’m gonna marry you? You said, yes.
"I just need you to say yes one more time."
The 33-year-old beauty tearfully accepted his proposal and the pair then embraced in the centre of the ring.
Nikki’s twin sister Brie Bella – who missed WrestleMania because she is heavily pregnant with her and Daniel Bryan’s first child – quickly rushed to Twitter to congratulate the couple.
She posted: "Happy tears!!!! They always felt married to me but to see it…wow!!! Welcome to the family @JohnCena (sic)"
And Daniel also sent his well-wishes to the couple via social media.
He tweeted: "Congratulations to @JohnCena and Nicole!!! I am super happy for them both!!! @BellaTwins (sic)"
The couple have been together for five years and Nikki has made no secret of her desire to tie the knot with the 39-year-old star.
Speaking on her reality show ‘Total Divas’ last year, she said: "You guys, John finally told me on our three-year anniversary that marriage doesn’t bother him anymore, he wants to marry me, he wants to be married to me.
"I want him next to me my whole life. I can’t live without him."
