John Barrowman joins Dancing on Ice panel

John Barrowman has confirmed he’s joined the ‘Dancing On Ice’ judging panel.
The former ‘Torchwood’ star – who came fourth in the first series of the show in 2006 – has promised to bring a "fresh, fun and fab-u-lous" viewpoint to the skating show after it was revealed he’ll be replacing departing Jason Gardiner on the ice panel.
He said: "I am so excited to be returning to the ‘Dancing On Ice’ family.
"Unlike most I have been through the rigorous task of skating live as a contestant in the first series. This is a thrilling adventure for me and I hope to bring a fresh, fun and fab-u-lous angle to the judging panel."
ITV bosses are thrilled to have the 47-year-old star on board to cast his verdict on the skating celebrities alongside Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe said: "John’s quick wit, inimitable talent and all round fabulous personality make him the perfect addition to ‘Dancing on Ice’s all star panel.
"We’re looking forward to seeing him bring his own brand of sparkle to the show."
John recently admitted he’d love to compete on ‘Dancing On Ice’ again.
Speaking about reality TV shows, the former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ campmate said: "[I’m] always game for these kind of things.
"I’m not one of those actors who says ‘oh no, it’s deeming to the craft!’ F**k that! If I’m asked to do something and I think it’s fun, I’ll go ahead and do it! I’d go back and give ‘Dancing on Ice’ a try again if they asked me to. Under whatever capacity."
Meanwhile, Jason announced his departure from ‘Dancing On Ice’ last month.
He said: After all these years I feel it’s time to say goodbye to my judging role and return to things I have been putting on hold for a while.
"The past two series there have been new additions to the panel including the fantastic Ashley Banjo and the legends [Jayne] Torvill and [Christopher] Dean. I have absolutely loved sharing the panel with them. Holly, Phil, Jayne and Chris, we created something we can be really proud of after the ice has finally thawed.
"We’ve had a lot of laughs, trials and tribulations and I have loved working with all of you. To the unsung heroes, the pros and coaches, including Karen Barber, without your hard work we would never have had the success we’ve had. I salute and applaud you."
