Joey Essex signs up for Ex on the Beach

Joey Essex has signed on for an ‘Ex on the Beach’ special in America.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star will join a host of celebrities including ‘Love Island’s Ellie Brown, Kelly Brook’s ex David McIntosh, George Best’s son Calum Best and US reality TV star Marissa Jade for the show which will be filmed in the US.
According to The Sun Online, other stars set to take part include ‘Love Island’ trio Michael Griffiths, Georgia Steel and Niall Aslam, along with reality star Lateysha Grace.
The latest series of the MTV reality show was cancelled after it was revealed Mike Thalassitis – who filmed scenes for the 10th season, which was never broadcast – had taken his own life aged 26 in March.
Confirming that the series would not air, MTV said in a statement: "We were very sad to hear the tragic news about Mike Thalassitis and our thoughts are with his family and friends.
"Last year, Mike took part in filming for the next series of ‘Ex on the Beach’, which was due to air on MTV later in the year.
"In light of the news of Mike’s death, we have decided not to broadcast the planned 10th season of the show."
And while it was believed that the show would end for good, MTV has now decided to bring it back.
An insider recently said: "It looked like the show might have been over for good when it didn’t come back, but that isn’t the case.
"Bosses still believe in the format and they’re going to try to learn the same lessons as ‘Love Island’.
"They definitely don’t feel it’s over yet, even though some fans might question the decision."
