Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell were ‘too busy’ for love during Strictly Come Dancing

Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell were "too busy" for love whilst they were competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The YouTube star and the professional dancer, 30, were paired together during the 2018 series of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition, but have insisted they didn’t become a real life couple until after the show had finished, because they didn’t realise their feelings for one another until they stopped spending every day in each other’s company.
When asked when they discovered a spark between them, Dianne said: "Honestly, during the show you are so busy that there’s not even time to think about that. You’re kind of … you’re training so hard. It wasn’t until after that we thought ‘Oh, I kind of miss seeing you every single day.’ "
To which Joe cheekily quipped: "I miss being shouted at by you every day!"
The couple have now been dating for just over a year, and took their romance to the next level over the Christmas period last month when 28-year-old Joe jetted out to Dianne’s native Australia to meet her family.
Speaking about the trip, Joe said: "It was nice, it was lovely."
And Dianne added: "He came back alive, so they liked him!"
Dianne’s choice of partner has made things complicated in her household though, as there’s now a whopping 16 different Buswell family members called Joe.
When asked about the popular name during an appearance on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (20.01.20), she said: "There’s about 15. Now that Joe’s come in, 16. You say ‘Joe, come over here’ and all 16 of them come over."
And Joe explained: "They would say like ‘Joe, come out and have the food’ or whatever, and all of us would look up like meerkats."
Joe and Dianne made it to the finals during their time together on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, and are set to head out on their 21-date ‘The Joe and Dianne Show’ tour in March, which will involve music, comedy, and dance.
