Jodie Marsh will take her sperm donor hunt to America.
The 37-year-old British model would love to be a mother of four and is widening her sperm donor search after splitting from estranged husband James Placido.
She said: "I’ve done a lot more research, I’ve met lots and lots of people and I’m now using a firm. I’m going with the British Surrogacy Centre to America."
When asked if she would consider a documentary about the search, she added: "Er, it depends how much a channel might offer … You could follow my journey as to how it happened because that’s interesting in itself."
Jodie has been told she has a low egg count and that it might be difficult for her to conceive naturally. And despite her recent split from James, she claims a hunt for a sperm donor started way before they tied the knot.
She shared: "Before I got married last year, before I even met him actually, I was looking to sperm donation because I realise time is ticking. I’m not getting any younger and if I want to have kids, there are limited options available – and certainly going forward there will be limited options. So I’d already been looking into sperm donation and I made a TV show about it last year."
The model filmed six documentaries on challenging topics for TLC – including one on the use of sperm donors – and she says she now feels in a "better position" because of her added knowledge on the topic.
She shared: "I’ve done loads of research on it [sperm donors], I knew what I was doing and what I was getting in to … I’m in a better position now, in the sense that having made the TV show I now know more about it now."
And during her search for a sperm donor, Jodie has gone back to being celibate and has reaped the rewards from doing so.
Speaking on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday (30.06.16), Jodie said: "I started to respect myself so much after I became celibate more so than I ever had in my life. Being celibate and not ever putting out, it gives you a self respect and a self-worth that only you can give you …
"No [I won’t miss the sex]. I’m so happy on my own, genuinely happy on my own. I’ve never been happier. I love my life, my career is amazing. I travel the world making these documentaries, everything in my life is where I want it to be. The only thing I don’t have is a partner and a child."
