Joanna Page says the whole cast of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ would "love" to do more of the show.
The BBC sitcom returned for a special on Christmas Day (25.12.19), which ended with a cliffhanger when Nessa (Ruth Jones) popped the question to Smithy (James Corden), and the 42-year-old star would love to be reunited with her co-stars again this year because they feel like her "family".
Speaking at the National Television Awards at London’s O2 on Tuesday (28.01.20), she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I genuinely don’t know anything, I’ve spent 10 years telling people it’s not coming back and we’re never going to do it again … and suddenly I’m going to have to keep saying I don’t know, because I still have no idea!
"I think me and the entire cast would love to do more. It’s such a lovely show to film, the whole of the cast are like my family and I’ve never had more fun on a job so I know we’d all love to do more."
Joanna admits she "couldn’t have asked for more" after over 17 million people tuned in to watch the programme.
She added: "I never thought it would be this fantastic with so many people watching. The reception from everybody, how loving and kind and people have just been so behind us that we’ve couldn’t have asked for more."
Joanna recently admitted she would love for the next episode to be set in Spain.
She said: "I would really like to do a holiday special.
"They should set it in Spain and we should be out there filming for at least a month, that’s what I am putting forward – I want it to be set in Spain."
