Jessie Wallace has teased her ‘EastEnders’ return.
The 48-year-old actress was temporarily written out of the BBC One soap four months ago following an alleged on-set incident, but she has now hinted Kat Slater could be back on our screens soon.
Jessie took to Instagram to share a picture of a pair of earrings, and wrote: "Thank you @nancy_and_nora for these beauty’s! Kat can not wait to wear them (sic)"
‘EastEnders’ fans admitted they "couldn’t wait" to see Kat back in Walford.
One wrote: "Cannot wait to the Slater Family complete again!! (sic)"
Another posted: "Can’t wait for Kat to come back wearing those beauties (sic)"
One shared: "look beautiful!!miss seeing kat on the square one of the best (sic)"
Kat departed Walford in March after receiving a worrying phone call.
In late January, it was reported Jessie had been suspended by the BBC, and it was expected she would be absent from the show for two months following an on-set incident, but had already filmed her 35th anniversary episode scenes.
A source said at the time: "Bosses were left with no choice but to discipline her. During the meeting she was told to sort herself out before returning to work.
"Scriptwriters are currently coming up with a storyline to explain Kat’s temporary exit from Walford.
"She’s one of EastEnders’ biggest stars and this huge anniversary is such an exciting time for everyone working on the show.
"There’s a real buzz around the set, as everyone is very much looking forward to celebrating the milestone.
"Thankfully all of the episodes she appears in on the boat along the Thames have been shot, so her suspension didn’t cause any chaos to the soap’s big birthday week."
‘EastEnders’ has cut its weekly output from four episodes to two due to the coronavirus, and filming has been paused.
But the soap recently confirmed the cast and crew will resume filming later this month.
