Jessica Simpson is expecting her third child.
The 38-year-old actress and singer already has daughter Maxwell, six, and son Ace, five, with her husband Eric Johnson, but has now revealed the couple – who married in 2014 – are set to expand their brood once more as Jessica is pregnant with a baby girl.
Posting a picture on Instagram on Tuesday (18.09.18) of her two children surrounded by pink balloons – which revealed the gender of Jessica’s unborn baby – she wrote: "This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life."
The news comes after the ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ star revealed earlier this year that she hadn’t ruled out the possibility of a third child, despite having previously claimed she’d had an Intrauterine device (IUD) fitted, which would prevent further pregnancies.
She said in April: "We always practice. But it would definitely have to be a miracle."
In May 2017, Jessica insisted she wouldn’t be having a third child, after reports surfaced claiming she was already expecting.
She said: "I’m not pregnant. We got an IUD, nothing’s gonna get in that uterus. I have two beautiful children and I’m not having a third."
Meanwhile, Jessica might not be the only member of the Simpson family expanding her brood in the near future, as her younger sister Ashlee – who has nine-year-old son Bronx with her ex-husband Pete Wentz, and three-year-old daughter Jagger with her current spouse Evan Ross – recently said she would like to have a third child soon.
When asked about the prospect of baby number three, the 33-year-old singer said: "It’s definitely soon … in the next year. Definitely in the next year would be nice."
