Jessica Knappett doubts ‘The Inbetweeners’ will return.
The 33-year-old actress-and-writer starred as Lisa in ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ in 2011, but despite rumours swirling that they are planning to have an adult reunion she doesn’t think the cast could pull it off because lead stars Simon Bird [Will McKenzie], James Buckley [Jay Cartwright] and Blake Harrison [Neil Sutherland] are too old for their roles as the mischievous schoolboys now.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "Hmm, the comeback I doubt it to be honest, I mean I know there is a lot of talk about it, but I can’t see it happening really … I don’t know isn’t everybody a bit old now? I don’t know if we believe if they are schoolboys anymore that’s the problem. I would love it to just keep coming back, but I don’t know – I guess that means somebody is going to have to write it, and then you have to get the boys to agree to put their school uniforms back on…"
Asked who she thinks would be good to take over as one of the lads, Jessica suggested ‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe.
She said: "That’s a good question, why don’t we put Daniel Radcliffe back in school uniform. I think we should have like a really A-list version, and they actually have a quite similar look."
It comes after Joe Thomas, who played Simon Cooper in the E4 sitcom, said he would "jump at the chance" to do an adult reunion.
The 33-year-old actor would love for a reunion to happen in the near future but was with Jessica in thinking they’re all too old to portray the foursome in sixth form college and it would need to be based 10 years’ down the line if they were ever to rejoin forces and create another series of the comedy.
