Jessica Fox instantly knew Nicholas Willes was "the one".
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who portrays Nancy Osborne in the Channel 4 soap – first met her musician fiance three years ago, and although "the time wasn’t right" they remembered how they felt as they reconnected "earlier this year" before he proposed last month.
Speaking to new! magazine, she said: "I knew the second I saw my fiance three years ago [that he was the one]. I wanted to talk to him and I did, but the time wasn’t right for us.
"I never forgot him, he never forgot me and then within three weeks of meeting again earlier this year, he had moved from London to Liverpool."
The 36-year-old soap star also gave some relationship advice to her teenage self, and admitted she wasted time focusing on "the wrong person" in her younger years.
She added: "If your gut says it’s not right, get out because it won’t be. You will waste a lot of time with the wrong person."
However, Jessica is very happy now, and she revealed laughter is one of the most important things to have between a couple.
She said: "Kindness. And putting people’s needs ahead of your own. And laughing a lot!"
Last month, she revealed the exciting news that she and Nicholas are to marry after he popped the question and she said yes.
Sharing a snap of the loved up couple as she showed off her engagement ring, Jessica wrote on Instagram: "Be with someone you can be completely yourself with. Someone who makes you want to be better, kinder, eat more fruit and veg. So of course I said ‘yes.’ (sic)"
