Jesse Eisenberg hopes someone "slaps" him "in the face" if he ever becomes a Hollywood diva.
The ‘Now You See Me 2’ star insists he’s fully aware of how fortunate he is to do a job he loves and get paid an eye-watering sum for it and will never moan about the downside to fame, despite being embarrassed by the attention at times.
He said: "The moment I complain about the totally disproportionate relationship between the wonderful perks I get [as a public figure] and the minor inconveniences that I’m tasked with encountering, is the moment I hope somebody slaps me in the face.
"The whole context of what we’re doing right now is vain for me. But all of our lives have unusual circumstances. And you learn to live with those circumstances."
He added: "When I’m talking to you, (I wonder) do you look at me and think, ‘God! What an indulgent p***k’? Or do you look at me and think, ‘This guy is smart and he thinks about what he does’? I ask because I wonder how I sound. Because nobody ever tells me to shut up!"
The 32-year-old actor – who is dating ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ star Mia Wasikowska – is in a happy place in his career and personal life and doesn’t suffer as much from anxiety as he used to, because he realises how lucky he is in life.
Jesses – who played Lex Luthor in ‘Batman V Superman’ – told The Guardian’s Weekend magazine: "I know my circumstances are the luckiest circumstances that have existed since, y’know, the dawn of civilisation. I recognise that in an intellectual way. I just still put a lot of pressure on myself. When I think about the kind of luck I have, of not only being born in America, but being able to do the things that I want to do, it feels pretty stupid to feel anxiety."
