Jeremy Meeks’ divorce has been finalised – just a week after the birth of his first child with his new beau Chloe Green.
The 34-year-old model filed documents earlier this year to try and speed up his divorce from estranged spouse Melissa – with whom he has nine-year-old son Jeremy Jr. – and it has now been reported that on Wednesday (06.06.18), a judge officially signed papers to terminate their marriage.
According to The Blast, the judge signed a "status only judgment" meaning that whilst the couple are now officially divorced, there are still some legal issues that need to be ironed out.
The news couldn’t have come at a better time for Jeremy either, as it was announced on Thursday (07.06.18), that he and his girlfriend and Topshop heiress Chloe Green had welcomed son Jayden into the world on May 29.
Both Chloe, 27, and Jeremy announced the happy news on their Instagram accounts, alongside a close-up photo of the baby’s hands and body.
They wrote in identical posts: "We are pleased to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy Jayden Meeks-Green. Born May 29th 2018. Mommy and Baby both doing well. We kindly ask to respect our privacy Please. Much love Chloe & Jeremy. (sic)"
Jeremy had previously asked courts to speed up the process of his divorce in March this year.
In court documents, he said: "There has been a complete breakdown of the marriage and no further time or assistance will save the marriage.
"Both parties are ready to end the marriage and have marital status terminated."
The former couple had already signed off on a settlement agreement, with Jeremy agreeing to pay Melissa $1,000 a month in child support.
Jeremy and Melissa have also already agreed joint legal custody of the youngster, who will split 30 percent of his time with his dad.
