Jeremy McConnell has reportedly agreed to enter rehab for drug addiction.
The 27-year-old hunk’s on/off girlfriend Stephanie Davis has claimed he will be spend six weeks in an unknown treatment facility to beat his obsession with substances and, although she’s not letting him see their two-month-old son Caben until he’s got himself sorted, she’s adamant she’ll stand by him.
She said: "He has agreed to go to rehab for six weeks. It will be quite immediate. Jeremy knows that he is 100 per cent in the wrong.
"And he has done things that aren’t good. But he isn’t a bad person, deep down, he’s not an evil vindictive person. He has had a drug problem which he has now admitted to, which is brilliant because for the whole year and the half, when someone can’t admit they have a problem – that’s the problem."
The 24-year-old actress thinks Jeremy’s turbulent past, in which his mother, brother and sister died, and then the recent passing of his beloved father tipped him over the edge.
She explained to OK! Online: "I think his dad just dying was a trigger."
And, although she thinks the heavily-inked heartthrob is a "b******d" for his recent actions, she can understand why he’s struggling and wants to help him through it because she still loves him.
She told the online publication: "For Jeremy this is get help or die situation. So I said to him, you either get help or that’s it, you lose him for good."
The couple – who got together last January after they met in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house but split shortly afterwards following a series of blazing rows – rekindled their relationship a few weeks after their little one was born into the world in January 2017.
However, although everyone was hoping their reunion was good this time, the pair seemingly split again earlier this month when Jeremy allegedly assaulted his former flame while he was residing at her home in Liverpool.
The Irish model was taken into police custody at a Merseyside police station in North West England a few days after the alleged incident for questioning.
A spokesperson for the station said: "Following a report of an assault at an address in Stephenson Grove, Rainhill, a man has this morning (16.03.17) been arrested.
"A 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after voluntarily attending a police station on Merseyside. He remains in police custody for questioning."
Jeremy was later released from custody but it’s not yet known whether he was charged with assault and criminal damage.
