Jeremy Kyle is "delighted" his fiancee Vicky Burton is pregnant with their first child.
The 54-year-old TV presenter – who already has kids Harriet, 29, Alice, 15, Ava, 13, and Henry, ten, from previous relationships – says it’s the "best possible thing that could have happened" to the couple.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Vick and I couldn’t be happier to say we’re expecting our first baby together. We’ve told our families and everyone is delighted.
"It’s the best possible thing that could have happened and we’re excited about preparing for his or her arrival in January."
News of Vicky’s pregnancy comes shortly after a report claimed Jeremy was poised to make a TV comeback in 2020.
The veteran star had his show scrapped in May after a guest who failed a lie detector test died in a suspected suicide – but he’s reportedly being lined up to return to the air next year.
An insider explained: "Jeremy is a huge ratings draw and he has a great relationship with ITV, who are very keen to bring him back.
"So it was only a matter of time. An ITV team have been told ‘find a format for Jeremy’ and that is what they are working hard to do.
"His team have told them they are open to all ideas.
"As you would expect, chat show formats are being considered, but others are too. And it is not a given that his return will be to daytime TV.
"We are expecting to have initial meetings about what they come up with in September, with the aim of then having Jeremy back on TV early next year."
