Jennifer Metcalfe was worried Twitter was broken during shock Hollyoaks return

Jennifer Metcalfe worried her Twitter feed had broken when no one reacted to her surprise ‘Hollyoaks’ return.
The 32-year-old actress’ alter-ego Mercedes McQueen was apparently killed off in 2014 but she made a surprise comeback six months later, and the brunette beauty was excited to see the social media response – only to receive no messages.
She said: "When the episode was airing I said I want to make sure I’ve got an hour to go on Twitter to see what the ‘Hollyoaks’ fans were saying because I thought I might get a few tweets. But when my scene aired, I went on Twitter and there wasn’t one tweet."
After getting her boyfriend Greg Lake to test her account, Jennifer was relieved to discover she had high security settings which meant "thousands" of messages were not getting through to her.
She added to OK! magazine: "I asked Greg to tweet me because there must have been something wrong, because at least one person must care that Mercedes has come back!
"I’m not great at Twitter and I realised I had a setting on that means I could only see tweets from people I followed, so I took it off and all of a sudden there were thousands of tweets from people saying how brilliant it was to have me back. It was really overwhelming."
