Jennifer Lopez’s children have to ask to "schedule" in family time with their mother.
The 47-year-old musician always tries to prioritise her nine-year-old twins Max and Emme – who she has with her former husband Marc Anthony – but her busy work life means her children have to ask permission to enjoy a "more quality time" as a family.
Speaking about her brood on the American talk show ‘The Real’, which the brunette beauty will guest co-host on Friday’s episode (10.03.17), she said: "You know, they’re always first. When you put them first, then everybody else understands the hierarchy.
"My son said to me this week, he goes, ‘Mom, I’d like to schedule … a picnic with you this week ’cause I know you’ve been, you know, working hard.
"He was with me in New York, but still, he was like ‘Um I’d like to schedule a picnic for next Friday because we need more quality time. And I was like, ‘Okay baby.’"
However, the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ hitmaker believes "nothing can prepare" a person for having twins, and she has admitted she did not feel ready to give birth to two children.
Speaking previously, the ‘Shades of Blue’ actress said: "Nothing can prepare you for twins. I certainly was not prepared. I would say, ‘Stay calm.’"
But the vocalist will be "forever grateful" she was able to have children.
She said: "They just make life so much better. I’m forever grateful. I didn’t have kids until later, and I almost thought that it wasn’t going to happen for me. I’m very aware that I was blessed with that. I don’t take it for granted for one day."
