Jennifer Hudson has learnt to embrace her figure.
The ‘Feeling Good’ hitmaker, who lost 80 pounds after first signing up as a Weight Watchers spokesperson a few years ago, admits she no longer feels self-conscious on the red carpet.
Wearing a short white dress with a plunging neckline, the 32-year-old star told USA Today newspaper at the BET Honours 2014 in Washington D.C. on Saturday night (08.02.14): "You need to embrace yourself, find those things that you love about yourself and know that no one is like you, and own being you."
Jennifer recently admitted she is much more comfortable with who she is since entering her thirties.
She said: "I love the thirties. I’m like, now I got the hang of it and being settled with myself and embracing it. I love the space that I’m in."
Meanwhile, rapper and actor Ice Cube, legendary singer Aretha Franklin, Motown founder and visionary Berry Gordy, photographer Carrie Mae Weems and American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault were among those honoured at the annual event.
Mariah Carey wowed the audience by performing her new single, ‘You’re Mine,’ for the first time in a black, cleavage-baring dress atop a piano.
Hosted by ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Wayne Brady, the BET Honours will air February 24 on BET.
