Jennifer Garner worries about the effect fame will have on her children.
The ‘Miracles From Heaven’ star and her ex-husband Ben Affleck are doing their best to ensure Violet, 10, Seraphina, seven, and Samuel, four, can speak openly about the public interest in their lives but she is unsure how the youngsters will cope with the attention in the long term.
She said: "I do worry about the effect [having famous parents] will have on them and the answer in the long term is, I don’t know. All I can do is help them be prepared for whatever may come their way.
"Ben and I try to have an open dialogue with the kids about this – we talk a lot with them about what are the good things about having actors for parents and what are the not-so-good things. And sometimes we will be somewhere and the kids will say, ‘This is a not-so-good thing’ and we’ll say, ‘Hang on. That might not be so good, but let’s acknowledge that this is a good thing."
The 43-year-old actress admits her own career causes problems for her kids as it brings so much uncertainly because she has to travel a lot.
Asked about the disadvantages for her kids, she told HELLO! magazine: "Paparazzi, kids who are your friends because your parents are famous, people stopping you at Disneyland to ask your parents for pictures, not knowing if you’ll spend the summer at home or somewhere like Atlanta because Mom wants to do a movie.
"Or feeling like every time you want to tell Mom something, she’s sitting in hair and make-up because she has a movie coming out. My son always tells me, ‘I do not like when your eyebrows are dark – I do not want you to have dark eyebrows."
